[_] What Are Lash Extensions: Semi permanent lash extensions are a professional salon service, preformed by cosmetologists , aestheticians or eye-lash specialty licenses.  Semi-permanent lash extensions are single strands of synthetic or organic materials, curled to replicate a natural lash.  Each extension is applied one at a time to your natural lashes, providing an immediate visual transformation.  Premier's lashes are silky soft and virtually weightless for a natural, elegant & full look.  The added volume, length and curl will have you looking gorgeous the moment you wake up, until you fall asleep - saving you precious time during your morning routine.

A full set typically consists of 120 - 150 lashes per eye.   Sessions can range between 1 1/2 to 3 hours, depending upon the number of lashes applied.  Applied correctly, lash extensions will last 3-5 weeks, depending upon the growth cycle of your natural lashes, the expertise of your lash stylist and equally important; your care & maintenance between visits.

Today's lash extensions are soft, weightless and a true extension of the natural lash.  This requires fewer touch-ups and salon visits.  As an educated consumer, request that only PremierLash products be used during your treatment session.

Faux Mink or Silk Lashes - PolyButylene Terephthalate (touch-up every 3-5 weeks)
Natural Mink Extensions - Organic Materials (touch-up every 4-6 weeks)

The hollow & weightless nature of natural mink allows the Beauty Industry to better treat symptoms of aging, alopecia and cancer remission patients.  As well as treating other conditions that affect lash loss such as demodex folliculorum, hypothyroidism, poor diet, etc.

[_] Maintenance:
Semi-permanent lashes are permanent with regular touch-ups.  Every 30-45 days approximately 1/3 of your natural lashes fall out.  As each lash sheds, a new eyelash is replacing the old.  As a result, general maintenance is required to keep your lashes looking full and natural.  Applied correctly, lash extensions generally last 3-5 weeks.  Higher quality lashes require fewer fills.

[_] Touch Ups:

[_] Important:  Your lash extensions should look and feel completely natural.  They should never sag, twist or feel heavy.  If you experience any irritation, pinching, pulling, redness, swelling or discomfort of any kind - contact your stylist immediately.

[_] Commonly asked questions:

Will I lose any of my natural eyelashes?  No, if applied correctly semi-permanent lash extension are NOT known to have adverse effects on your natural lashes.  However, if the diameter (or thickness) of the extension is too thick, damage can occur -  thinning, downward growth or premature loss.  Precautions are taken not to glue more then one extension per lash - causing the extension to pinch, or prematurely be torn from the follicle.

Cyanoacrylate Adhesive and Formaldehyde:   PremierLash uses the same type of 'medical-grade' adhesive that is used by surgeons to preform sutureless closures.  All Cyanoacrylate adhesive contain low levels of formaldehyde measured in ppm (parts per million) or levels that are considered negligible by USA Health Standards.  Created as a by-product of the main ingredient.  To further minimize exposure, steps are taken during the manufacturing process using the highest quality medical grade ingredients (ROHS or ISO Certified).  PremierLash™ is dedicated to your safety, please contact us if you require a list of ingredients.

Is a professional license required?  Yes, semi permanent lash extensions are a professional salon service, preformed by cosmetologists, aestheticians or eye-lash specialty licenses.  Regulated by individual State Boards.

Are the extensions glued to my skin?
No, semi permanent lash extensions are applied 1-3mm away from the skin and attached directly to the natural lash.  At no point should the adhesive ever touch the skin.

I've worn flares (or tabs, clusters) can you repair damage (made of 4-6 lashes, knotted at the base)?  Yes, consult with your lash stylist regarding treatment options.

I pull out my natural lashes, can I replace them with lash extensions?   Because semi permanent lash extensions are applied to natural lashes, consult with your lash stylist regarding what option is best for you.

Can I still wear makeup?
Yes, however, only Oil-Free makeup, remover and moisturizer should be used. Oil's will 'break down' the adhesive causing your extensions to fall out prematurely.

Can I wear mascara?
Use mascara sparingly.  Apply only to the tips, or on your lower lashes.  NEVER use waterproof mascara.

Can I use an eye lash curler?  No, (do not use a mechanical lash curler) crimping the lashes will break the bond of the adhesive.  Only heated lash curlers should be used.

How do I care for my lash extensions?
Avoid getting your lashes wet for the initial 24 hours.  Cleanse your eyes with a Oil Free makeup remover.  Gently rub your extensions between your forefingers & thumb. Oil based products will affect the adhesion, causing your lash extensions to fall out prematurely.   After cleaning, brush your lashes with a clean mascara wand from the base to the tip while rolling the wand.  Support your lashes using your finger, curling them in an upward motion.  Speak with you stylist for further information.

How do I prepare for my appointment?  Remove all makeup and moisturizers.  Avoid caffeinated drinks - you will want to be relaxed.  It is also recommended to use the restroom prior to your appointment.  Wear comfortable clothing to make the most of this time for relation and pampering.

Appointment Etiquette:  Arrive early - allow ample time to check in, fill out client forms and relax before your lash experience.  Be courteous - turn off or silence your cell phone during your appointment.  Please do not bring children.  Contacts must be removed prior to your appointment.  Keep talking to a minimum during your treatment session.

Can I remove the lashes myself?  No, this should only be done by a professional to prevent damaging your natural lashes.  Removal generally takes 20 -30 minutes.

[_] Lash Growth Cycle:
The average adult typically has 100 - 250 eyelashes in the upper lid and 35 - 70 eyelashes in the lower lid.  Your lashes not only frame the eye aesthetically, but filter out foreign objects to protect your eyes.  All hair follows a three phase growth cycle- Anagen, Catagen & Telogen, which lasts from eight to twelve weeks.

I. Anagen Phase: The Anagen phase is the Growth phase, when lashes are actively growing and lasts from 30-45 days. Only about 40% of upper and 15% of lower lashes are in the Anagen phase at any time. Each lash will grow to a specific length then stop.

II. Catagen Phase: The Catagen phase is the transition between the growth and resting of the hair follicle. During this time, the lash stops growing and the follicle begins to shrink. If an eyelash falls out, or is plucked out during this phase, regrowth can be delayed. The follicle needs to complete the Catagen phase before the next can begin.

III. Telogen Phase: The Telogen phase is the Resting phase. In this cycle of growth, the lash is retained in the hair follicle as a dead or “club” hair until falling out. Because each individual lash is in its own growth phase, or cycle, it is normal to lose a few lashes to daily.
